While doing research on Mobile, Alabama, I came across this little cozy place that serves southern and seafood meals with a Asian twist.
Von’s Bistro located in downtown Mobile Alabama on the South side of St. Michael Street, just East of N. Royal, is a modern dig of Southern and Seafood dishes served with a Asian flare in a casual, comfortable setting. Catering, Food Truck & delivery services available. Locally sourced ingredients and seafood.
Owned by Von & Paul Larson, Von’s Bistro uses local, high quality, homemade, Southern & Seafood meals with an Asian twist. Von was raised in the Mobile area and followed her passion by opening up Von’s Bistro in 2012. Von’s Bistro serves at the 69 St. Michael Street location plus has catering service and a food truck setup.

Although it’s closed on Sundays, you can find its doors open Monday through Saturday for lunch between 11am and 2:30pm and dinner 5pm to 9pm

Von’s Bistro Menu In Mobile AL
As with most establishments, you can start off with an assortment of fine appetizers for either lunch or dinner.
Gulf Crab Augratin Dip with warm tortilla chips, Gulf Crab Parmesan Cheese Fries is a twist on the cheesy fries favorite. And of course, those of us who are tomato lovers can’t resist the Fried Green Tomatoes (OMG!) with Creole Crawfish sauce or Crab Parmesan Cheese sauce. Wrap up your choices with Crispy Pork Spring Rolls with sweet & sour sauce and finally Gulf Crap Wontons. Both the rolls or wontons have a 7 or 2 each choice.
No self respecting restaurant that serves Asian cuisine would not dare limit their menu without Asian inspired soups and bowls. You can try out the Vietnamese Pho Soup with either chicken, beef or shrimp. The Thai Curry Rice Bowl is a favorite, also with the chicken, beef or shrimp options.

Creamy Gulf Crab Bisque and everyone should try the Gulf Shrimp & Crab Gumbo.
Get either chicken, beef, shrimp or crab in the Hibachi Express, Drunken Thai Nooldes, Pad Thai, or Fried Rice.
For those of you watching your weight, try out the Thai Lettuce Wraps or a Bistro Spring Mix Salad with your choice of chicken or shrimp. The Asian Chopped Salad and Classic Caesar Salad round out the light menu choices.
Von’s Bistro even has a touch of South of the Border. Seafood Nachos topped with shrimp and creola crawfish sauce or enjoy a little southern master piece with Gulf Shrimp & Cheese Grits.
They even have Tacos! Banh Mi Taco for an Asian flare, Fish Tacos with blackened or grilled shrimp for that Gulf Coast feel and Southern Hog Tacos for a down home touch.
Von’s extends it menu selection with a Southern BLT that features two fried green tomatoes. A Chicken Salad sandwich with choice of side and the Vietnamese Po-Boy with either chicken, pork or gulf shrimp.

Desserts – One choice here, but it’s the best – Homemade Bread Pudding w/ Vanilla Crème Sauce.

El Papi serves Mexican Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite, Iced Tea, Jarritos, Mandarin, Guava and Tamarind.

Von’s Bistrop offers a Saturday Brunch that includes Chicken and Waffles with an Asian Sesame Seed Waffles. Brunch Eggrolls stuffed with hashbrowns, eggs, onions, cheese, pork belly with a Fire Roasted Salsa. Classic French Toast and Down on the Bayou Pasta topped with crawfish, crabmeat and shrimp creola sauce.
Von’s also has weekly specials. Classic Hamburger Steak w/mashed potatoes and veggies with an Asian Chef’s Salad on Monday’s.
Tuesday’s feature a Homemade Lasagna with Asian Thai Chicken Thighs.
Wednesday you’ll find Boston Butt Pot Roast w/carrots, potatoes & rice/gravy.
Thursday’s special is Smothered Pork Chops w/mashed taters and vegetables.
Chicken Alfredo and Asian Chicken Lo Mein as Friday Specials.
