Enjoy World Famous Cuisine In Cedar Key Florida Restaurants

Where can you find world class dining with an island atmosphere while not leaving the states? After working in Florida for about 2 years, I’ve found that there are plenty of little hideaway spots all over this state.

Cedar Key Florida restaurants boast having some world-class cuisine and panoramic views. About 60 miles SW of Gainsville Florida, you can find this island town and find low-key to upscale fine dining. One of the local favorites is Tony’s Clam Chowder.

There are about 10 local spots that you can sit back and enjoy a well deserved meal after you have completed some island hopping out on the Cedar Keys National Wildlife Refuge or other local islands or keys just offshore from the town.

Tony’s Seafood Restaurant on Cedar Key, Florida

Located about three miles from the Gulf of Mexico, this world famous restaurant known for its clam chowder, is owned and operated by Chef Eric.

This clam chowder is so famous and award winning (three titles in a row) desired by restaurant goers that Chef Eric canned it and sells it online on his website and wholesale for restaurants and small grocery stores.

…Now for the restaurant.

At the time of this posting, there is a notice at their website stating that the Cedar Key location is closed for hurricane mitigation damage repairs. Give them a call to make sure they are open before making a long trip. You can contact the Cedar Key, FL location at 352-543-0022 at the restaurant of 352-543-9143 for reservations.

Reservations are recommended especially if you have a large party attending.

They do have a location in Mt Dora, FL which is just NW of Orlando, FL.

I have not been able to find an online menu, but from the reviews…everything is fantastic.

Best clam chowder is the truth! We bought 6 cans to go! We also shared a Tony’s seafood platter enough for 2 and brought some home! Staff was very helpful and kind!
